New Post - Invasive Weeds Officer

The Westcountry Rivers Trust is recruiting for a new post! We are looking a for an invasive weeds officer to work on an exciting project monitoring and treating invasive weeds on the camel catchement. The Invasive Weeds Officer will initiate and deliver various control and treatment programmes for invasive weeds that will lead to reduced erosion, soil loss, habitat degradation and species loss and ultimately improve native biodiversity within the river Camel catchment. The officer will work with local groups and organisations to evaluate the cost/benefit ratio of novel mechanisms for controlling invasive species. The post is for three years with a six month review period.

Launch of the WET FEET scheme

The Westcountry Rivers Trust is proud to launch a junior Rivers Trust membership programme ‘Wet Feet’ which is aimed at budding river enthusiasts. Junior members will receive a ‘Wet Feet’ biannual magazine - an introductory copy of which has been included with this issue of confluence - alongside a membership pack including a certificate, wet feet detective pack, activities, posters, stickers and regular e-newsletters.
