WRT signed and sealed!

At the end of July, David Haines, Director of the Trust signed the contracts for our EU funded Interreg projects. These contracts cover 4 areas of expertise include invasive weeds, salmon genetics, eel conservation and tourism. More details on the projects can be found at the project summary page or in the latest edition of Confluence which can be downloaded from the newsletters page

We are delighted to be a part of this programme which extends across the length of the Atlantic Arc and we look forward to working closely with our European partners.



ASAP Launch

Westcountry Rivers Trust is proud to announce the launch of the Atlantic Arc Salmon Project (ASAP). The project has been described as a groundbreaking advance in fisheries science and we are delighted to invite you to join us on September 10th to celebrate this occasion.

The launch of the project coincides with the 10th Anniversary of the Trust, so we will be celebrating this dual occasion by hosting a Champagne Reception at the world famous Eden Project, billed as the 8th Wonder of the World.

Vacancy at the Westcountry Rivers Trust

Atlantis Project Manager – initial 3 month contract

£30,000pa equivalent

The Westcountry Rivers Trust is widely regarded as the leading UK exponent of the Ecosystem Approach. The Trust has worked for ten years protecting and enhancing watercourses and wildlife throughout the region. The Trust undertakes projects, consultancy, cutting edge international research and education at all levels.

Reporting to the Director, your goal will be to do the initial scope for an education and tourism centre based in Cornwall to promote the work of the Trust.

Your experience will need to include:

  • a proven track record in raising corporate finance
  • managing and co-ordinating external consultants
  • presenting to senior level stakeholders

You will need an environmental awareness, have the ability to be a self starter and be able to prioritise in order to deliver on this exciting project within the timescale.
