Tamar Consulting is a multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy specialising in the project management and production of Environmental Statements for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs). Our consultants have specific expertise in ecological surveying, assessment and monitoring of flora and fauna in Marine, Freshwater and Terrestrial habitats. We also design enhancement, avoidance, mitigation and compensation measures, often as part of the planning process.

Additionally, Tamar Consulting offers a comprehensive land management advisory service which includes the production of Farm Environment Plans, Soil Management Plans, Manure and Nutrient Budgeting Plans, Entry Level Scheme (ELS) and Higher Level Scheme (HLS) applications, Agricultural EIAs, and general ecological appraisals for land managers.

We provide Project Development and Financial Management services undertaking project management, grant searches, project bid writing and claim preparation.

We have a proven track record, working with a wide range of organisations from within the private, public and NGO sectors. We have successfully prepared, won and managed large scale projects from various sources including: National Lottery, Objective 1, 2 & 5B, VI Framework and Interreg.

Consulting staff are qualified to postgraduate or postdoctoral level and are members of their respective professional bodies including the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM), Institute of Fisheries Management (IFM), Institute of Biology (IoB), Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) from the Society for the Environment (SocEnv), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

Tamar Consulting is the trading name of the Westcountry Rivers Ltd, founded in 1995 as the commercial arm of its parent organisation, the Westcountry Rivers Trust (Charity No. 1045806). The Trust is a leading exponent of the integrated management of land, water and living resources, thereby promoting conservation and sustainable use in an equitable way.
